use your loaf.
We understand the importance of reducing food waste, which is not only a social or humanitarian concern – it’s an environmental one too!
Here at loaf we get creative with seasonal fruits and vegetables that might be up for grabs from your garden, hedgerow or a super kind green fingered neighbour – this is what Norfolk is brimming in, community spirt.
Real bread is delicious, wholesome, rich in nutrients and extremely versatile – it need not ever be wasted. A great anchor for sustainability!
Turn your last slice into a real treat.
- 2 garden apples cored and sliced.
- Gently melt and generous knob of butter in a pan arrange the apples and cook on a medium heat, after a few minutes turn the apples, sprinkle with coconut sugar and sweet cinnamon (vanilla is an optional pleasure) turn down the heat and allow the apples to soften to desired texture.
- Lightly toast a slice of sourdough and tumble on the warm fruit. We have added some oat cream too, nice cream would also be delicious.
